Waiting…
Private by design
Your files are processed by your own device using WebAssembly and your browser's built-in codecs. Nothing is uploaded, logged or stored.
Fast & offline-ready
No queue, no waiting for a server. Once the page has loaded it even works without a connection.
Works everywhere
Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari on Windows, macOS, Linux, Android and iOS. No app to install.
Vectors in, pixels out
SVG describes an image as shapes and curves, so it scales to any size without blurring. That makes it ideal for logos
and icons on the web, but a great many places still cannot use it: email clients, most social networks, Microsoft
Office on some platforms, print shops, app-store listings, image fields in content management systems, and anywhere
that wants a "normal" picture. For those you need a PNG, and because the source is a vector you can make it any
size you like with no loss of sharpness.
Picking an output size
The only decision that matters is width. The height follows automatically from the aspect ratio in the file. A
few rules of thumb:
Use
Width
Favicon or small UI icon
64–256 px
Logo in an email signature
400–600 px
Social media avatar
800–1000 px
Website header logo (2× for retina)
1000–2000 px
Presentation slide graphic
1920–2560 px
Print at 300 dpi, 10 cm wide
about 1200 px
Leave the width blank and Tinyvert uses the size written inside the SVG, or, when the file only has a viewBox (very
common for icons exported from Figma or Illustrator), the viewBox dimensions. Percentage or centimetre sizes are
ignored in favour of the viewBox, which is what you want.
How rendering works, and why it is safe
SVG files can contain scripts and links to external resources, which is why handling untrusted SVGs is a security
concern for websites. Tinyvert draws the file through an ordinary image element, the same way a browser renders an
<img src="logo.svg">. In that mode scripts never execute and external references are never
fetched, so a file from an unknown source cannot do anything except be drawn. The downside is that externally linked
fonts or images will not appear; embed them in the SVG, or convert text to paths in your design tool, and the PNG
will match the original exactly.
The result is a 32-bit PNG with full alpha transparency. Transparent regions in the SVG stay transparent, anti-aliased
edges are preserved, and nothing is uploaded at any point.
After converting
Need a smaller file for a website? Run the PNG through PNG to WebP. Need an opaque JPG for
a form that insists on it? PNG to JPG lets you pick the background colour. And if the PNG
comes out at the wrong size, the resizer fixes it, though re-converting from the SVG at
the right width always gives a sharper result.
How to convert svg to png — step by step
1
Drop your .svg files onto the page or click "Choose files".
2
Type the pixel width you want. 1024 is a sensible default; use 2048 or more for print or high-DPI screens.
3
Each file rasterises instantly with transparency preserved.
4
Download the PNGs, individually or as a ZIP.
Frequently asked questions
What size will the PNG be?
Whatever width you type in the "Output width" box, with the height worked out from the SVG’s aspect ratio. Leave it blank to use the size declared inside the file, or the viewBox if the file declares none.
Does the PNG keep transparency?
Yes. Areas of the SVG with no fill come out fully transparent in the PNG, so logos and icons drop straight onto any background.
Why does my SVG render blank or wrong?
Rendering uses the browser’s own SVG engine, so anything that needs an external file (linked images, web fonts, external CSS) is not loaded, for safety and privacy. Embed fonts and images inside the SVG, or convert text to outlines, and it will render as designed.
Can I make a huge PNG from a small SVG?
Yes, that is the point of vectors: 16 px or 8,000 px wide, the edges stay perfectly sharp. The upper limit is what a browser can draw on one canvas, about 268 million pixels in total (16,000 × 16,000, or 30,000 × 8,000). The tool tells you if a size is over it.
Is the SVG uploaded anywhere?
No. The file is parsed and drawn inside your browser. It is never sent to a server.
