Lower = smaller file. 80–90% is visually lossless for photos.

    Private by design

Your files are processed by your own device using WebAssembly and your browser's built-in codecs. Nothing is uploaded, logged or stored.

    Fast & offline-ready

No queue, no waiting for a server. Once the page has loaded it even works without a connection.

    Works everywhere

Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari on Windows, macOS, Linux, Android and iOS. No app to install.

    Why resize images?

A modern phone photo is 4000 pixels wide or more. A full-width web image needs about 1600–2000 pixels; a profile picture 400; an email-friendly attachment 1200. Sending or publishing images at their native size wastes bandwidth, slows pages down and can even get uploads rejected by size limits. Resizing to the dimensions you actually need is the single most effective way to shrink a file, often more than compression alone.

Resizing is also about fit: matching a banner slot, a print size, a social-media template or a document layout, without cropping or stretching.

    Four ways to resize

    • By width — set the width; the height follows proportionally. The most common choice for web images.
    • By height — the reverse, handy for uniform rows of thumbnails.
    • By percentage — scale everything to, say, 50%, perfect for a mixed batch of different sizes.
    • Fit inside — give a maximum width and height; every image is scaled to fit inside that box while keeping its own proportions. Ideal for enforcing a "max 1920×1080" rule across a batch.

"Never enlarge images" is on by default so that small images stay sharp instead of being blown up. Untick it if you deliberately need to upscale.

    Resampling quality

Cheap resizers pick the nearest pixel and produce jagged, aliased results. Tinyvert downsamples in stages, halving the image repeatedly with high-quality bilinear filtering before the final step, which is how professional editors avoid shimmering and moiré when shrinking large photos. HEIC files are decoded first, EXIF orientation is honoured so portrait shots stay upright, and the result is encoded in your chosen format at the quality you set.

Like every Tinyvert tool, the resizer runs completely in your browser. Your originals are never transmitted, which makes it suitable for ID documents, medical images and confidential business material. Want smaller files without changing dimensions? Use the compressor. How to resize images online — step by step

    1. Drop your images on the page — JPG, PNG, WebP or HEIC.

    2. Choose how to resize: by width, by height, by percentage, or to fit inside a maximum box.

    3. Enter the target size. Aspect ratio is locked, so nothing gets stretched.

    4. Optionally change the output format and quality, then download singly or as a ZIP.

    Frequently asked questions

Will resizing keep the aspect ratio?
Yes. Resize by width, height or percentage and the other dimension is calculated automatically so the image is never distorted. The "Fit inside" mode scales the image to fit within a box, again without cropping or stretching.
    Can I enlarge an image?
You can, by unticking "Never enlarge images". Upscaling cannot invent detail, so images will look softer; for small enlargements (up to ~150%) results are usually acceptable.
    What formats can I resize?
JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP and iPhone HEIC. Output can stay in the original format or be switched to JPG, PNG or WebP.
    Does resizing reduce file size?
Dramatically. Halving the width and height quarters the pixel count, and the file size usually falls even more. Combine with a lower quality setting for maximum savings.
    Is there a batch limit?
Up to 5 images per batch free, unlimited with Tinyvert Pro. All images in a batch receive the same settings and download as one ZIP.
